THE HAJJ

The Hajj is a very beautiful place where the Muslims pilgrimage. This place is in the Middle East in Saudi Arabia in the city of Mecca. A million Muslim people go to Hajj. In this place there is Black Stone which has a lot of bedrooms, there are a 1000’s of bathrooms. It is a bigger place there we could get lost there there. There is a house of Allah where we walk seven times around the black house. This house is bigger than
Schenectady High School.

The Prophet Mohammed

Mohammed was a wealthy merchant in Mecca. At the age of 40 he had a vision in a cave on Mount Hira near Mecca that commanded him to preach. His subsequent visions and teaching are recorded in the Qoran, the Holy Scripture of Islam. His new religion alienated the leader of Mecca. In 672 to escape an assassination attempt he fled to Yathrib, today Yathrib is called Medina, city of the prophet, Muslims date their years to this flight, the Hegira. Mohammed ruled Medina as a theocratic state. He defeated an attack from Mecca in 624 and conquered Mecca in 630, at the time of his death; this religion controlled Arabia and was making inroads in Syria and Asia.
